SEGEPO sets up in the USA by acquiring FISCHER SPECIAL MANUFACTURING

SEGEPO,  a French group, headquartered in the Lyon area, is specialized for over 50 years in high precision turning and machining. The SEGEPO Group operates 4 industrial sites in France, 1 in Poland and 1 in Turkey and targets the automotive, refrigeration, electrical and mechanical industries. The company has an annual turnover of €43 million and employs 250 people.

With the support of the investment holding DENTRESSANGLE, its majority shareholder since 2015, the SEGEPO Group is accelerating its growth, both organically and through an external growth strategy.

In line with this growth strategy, SEGEPO Group acquired 85% of the shares of the American precision parts manufacturer,  FISCHER SPECIAL MANUFACTURING (FSM), based in Cincinnati. FSM mainly targets the automotive and hydraulic and pneumatic connector industries, with annual sales of $10 million and employs 65 people. FSM CEO, Thomas Boehmer, holds 15% of the company's shares.

Philippe Chapeaux, CEO of the SEGEPO Group, said: "The acquisition of FSM is a key milestone in SEGEPO’s strategic development. We now have production capacities at the heart of the buoyant American market. FSM is a very good company, recognized in the USA for the quality of its products and fits perfectly with SEGEPO. The acquisition drives a higher growth plan, based on the synergies of the two companies and the sharing of their best practices. We are also strengthening our positions with our major global customers, who appreciate the quality of SEGEPO's products and services and whom we will now also be able to support on the American continent. "

Thomas Boehmer, CEO of FSM, added: "The acquisition is a great opportunity for FSM, its team and its customers. SEGEPO brings us a new investment capacity enabling us to upgrade our manufacturing capabilities and expand our product range. With both companies focused  in similar industries, with little customer overlap, there are large opportunities to better serve both client bases with production capability close to our customers' proximity."
